Egypt Olympic national team head coach Shawky Gharib has named his final squad for their friendlies against Brazil and South Korea. The Young Pharaohs will face South Korea on November 12, before playing Brazil, led by Real Madrid star and Arsenal defender, five days later. These will be the team’s first games since their historic triumph at the 2019 U23 AFCON in November of last year. Gharib’s squad for the two tough games saw some notable names, like soon-to-be Al Ahly defender Ahmed Ramadan Beckham, Ammar Hamdi, Nasser Maher, Abdelrahman Magdy, Ahmed Yasser Rayan, and Salah Mohsen. Zamalek trio Emam Ashour, Mohamed Sobhi and Mohamed Abdel-Salam also made the cut. Meanwhile, the team lost the services of a couple of star players like Taher Mohamed Taher, Ramadan Sobhi, and Akram Tawfik who were called-up to the main national team. Mostafa Mohamed and Ahmed Fetouh were also left out as they were included in El-Badry’s squad for Togo’s clashes. Meanwhile, VFL Wolfsburg’s Omar Marmoush was not chosen by Gharib due to tactical reasons despite playing for the German side’s first-team. (Fonte: www.kingfut.com)
